Ovulation Tests

Ovulation happens at the time in the month when one of your eggs is released from your ovary and travels down to your fallopian tube. It will wait here to be fertilized, but only for approximately twelve to twenty four hours. If fertilization does not happen the egg is released and lost. There are two different types of ovulation test kit or ovulation predictor kit, both using their own methods. One type uses your saliva to test and the other uses your urine to test. Both are very effective methods, it’s down to personal choice which one you choose to use.

A fern like pattern indicates your ovulation day. These kits are good for people who dislike the urine ovulation tests or those with irregular monthly cycles.
The urine based kit tests for a hormone that is found in your urine. Its levels increase just before ovulation and are a good indicator to tell you that the egg has been released from the ovary. It is called luteinising hormone (LH). It is best to always test at the same time every day and even twice a day. You have a twelve to thirty six hour window of opportunity from the increase of LH to the time when your egg is released. This is your special time when conception is more likely as this is also the best time for the X chromosome’s best chance of success, and hence you conceiving a girl.
Both types of ovulation tests are available separately, or you can buy them as part of most conception packages. These packages also include pregnancy test strips which you will need to find out if you have conceived a lovely baby girl.
