Ovulation Monitoring
This page is to help you to know when the right time is to conceive, during your journey of how to conceive a girl, therefore increasing your chances of conceiving on the right day. Knowing which days you are ovulating and which days to make love to favour a girl is important. X chromosomes (girl) are weaker swimmers but can last longer so by knowing your ovulation date you can try to conceive 3 or 4 days before and they will arrive in time to fertilize your egg. Y chromosomes (boy) are stronger swimmers but will die out before the ovulation date.
There are different ovulation monitoring methods available, as described below to help you to choose which one may be suitable for you.
Digital Basal Thermometer – This is probably the most common method of ovulation monitoring. This special basal thermometer is used to take your body temperature every day at exactly the same time, usually as soon as you wake up when your body temperature is at its lowest, and plotting it on a chart. It is good to start doing this at the beginning of your cycle, on the first day of your menstrual period and then repeat every day always at the same time. You will need to do this for three months in a row which will give you sufficient information to determine your ovulation date. When you look at your own chart results, you will see a pattern where there are approximately three days during your cycle where the temperature is higher than the other days. This shows you the days where you are ovulating and therefore tells you the best time to try to conceive a girl.
Monitoring Your Cervical Mucus – This is a method where you can check the consistency of your cervical mucus daily and note the results on a chart. Again, do this over a period of 3 months to gather enough information. You will soon see that the mucus is thicker and whiter at the start of your menstrual cycle. As the mucus gets thinner, clearer and stickier this tells you that your ovulation date is near. It is not considered the best method due to its inaccuracy. It does mean that when your mucus is clearer and thinner then this is the time to be making love to try to conceive as this ovulation monitoring method does not predict an exact date for you.
Urine Ovulation Predictors – This type of ovulation monitoring is different but very good and very simple to do. You use them just like a classic pregnancy test. You need to wee on the strip provided. This has to be done every day and for more accurate results should be done at the same time every day. If a negative sign appears on the strip, this tells you that you are not ovulating, and if a positive sign appears then you are ovulating. It is an instant daily prediction to tell you if you are ovulating and need to be trying to conceive that day!
Ovulation Clear Saliva Fertility Monitor – This ovulation monitoring method is the newest digital technology. Using the same principle as the urine pregnancy tests you put saliva from inside your mouth onto a slide. Then using the microscope in the kit and connecting via the USB provided to your home computer the monitor looks at your saliva and detects your most fertile days. Your samples will start to change from day to day and you will compare the images to those on the chart supplied. It can predict your ovulation date up to 5 days before. The kit is complete and will store unlimited samples of your saliva.
